Project Welcome Refugee is a non-profit organization started by a Catalyst Group of KPUMC. The group's first project was to host a First Thanksgiving Dinner for recently resettled refugees in Dallas in November 2014, a tradition that continues.

The group has also helped settle two refugee families through Refugee Services of Texas, including a Bhutanese family of 3, and a Syrian family of 6. Also, the group found temporary affordable housing for another Syrian family in the first half of 2016.

Currently, the group is finishing up creating its non-profit organization, and is working on creating an ESL program for refugees living in south Dallas.
