Upcoming Events

Late Spring is a time of transition in so many of our lives. Over the next few weeks in worship we’ll celebrate and honor many of those transitions. You can find more information about all of it in this newsletter, but let me briefly note the journey here.

First, this coming Sunday we’ll celebrate our Confirmation Class. This year’s class was a really great group of five boys who each took this process very seriously. Pastor Kay and I both agree that it was a joy to work with them through a series of Confirmation Lock-Ins at church.

But this is an important moment in their lives as they transition to making their own declarations about God and God’s working in their lives.

Two Sundays from now we hope to celebrate our graduations…high school, college, and graduate school. We know not all of them can be with us, but we’ll happily pray for them and honor them that day. (Elsewhere in this newsletter you’ll see the invitation to share any names of graduates we might otherwise miss…)

Finally, our own Rev. Kurt Maerschel has been approved for ordination in the United Methodist Church. This is a huge moment for him, and the culmination of years of study and ministry preparation. We’ll also honor him on June 4th along with those graduates. And you are all invited to his ordination (details about that to come…)

I know some of you have shared the journey with Kurt ever since his internship among us and so you’ll want to celebrate this milestone.

Plan to be with us in worship for all these important moments as we celebrate the accomplishments of so many Kessler Park members and friends.

Grace and Peace,

Eric Folkerth
