Pastor Eric came to KPUMC in 2019, having served churches in Dallas for 30 years.
He’s a minister, musician, activist, blogger, and writer with a passion for the heart of our city. He loves to build community, foster our spiritual lives, and stand for justice. He’s a previous Kuchling Humanitarian Award recipient. His wife, Justice Dennise Garcia, serves of the 5th District Court of Appeals for North Texas. Their daughter, Maria is a local therapist.

Kay Ash


Minister with Children

(She, Her)
Pastor Kay came to KPUMC in 2018, having served previously in Richardson and Gainesville.
Kay is a nationally recoginized expert in children’s ministries, and trainer in the “A Time For Children” ministry method. She much beloved by the parents and children of North Oak Cliff.
Mother to Kameron and Kianna, Kay loves cooking, singing, dancing and animals.

Ken Kelley


Minister of Congregational Care

(He, Him)
A longtime church member, Ken provides pastoral care to our members, visiting hospitals, and staffing our ministry with older adults. Ken also directs our bell choir, helps plan and lead worship, and keeps many things running behind the scenes. His knowlege of our building and history, and his kind nature, are invaluable to our church.

Rae Overman

Youth Minister

Rae comes to us from the Union Coffee community, and is a lifelong area resident. They have experience as a youth Bible study and small group leader. We are excited about the creativity they bring to our minister to and with the youth of North Oak Cliff

Maria Garcia
Office Manager

Maria comes to us after a decade of administrative experience with FedEx. An Oak Cliff native, she helps anchor our church presence during the week, and handles our administrative matters.

LaTara Thompkins
KP Day School Director

LaTara has more than 20 years of experience as a Director, working with children and youth in Dallas. She has been our director since 2019, and previously ran her own childcare agency. She has helped scale up our Day School to better serve Oak Cliff families.
She holds an MBA and Masters in Health Care Administration and Management from TWU.

Rebecca Creighton
Finance Manager

Rebecca is our contractor who prepares our financial reports, and liaisons with Pastor Eric and the KPUMC Leadership Team. She started with KPUMC in the summer of 2017
